Well one of the big adventures of the week was that tons of red worms started living in our water. We have a well here and we noticed that the water was living with these little red worms so we showed the land lord and she came over and looked at it and called her cousin to help us clean the well. So we cleaned up around the well first because it was covered by a bunch of rotting wood and when we opened the well it had a bunch of cockroaches in it and a few little frogs. Flaco went down in the well after we drained it out with a pump and then he scooped out the mud in the bottom and we pulled up all the buckets and got out all the mud and muddy water and we cleaned out the tank. He also fixed our 2nd shower and put a new light in because one light fixture was fried. He put in a new one so the house here is all fixed up.
I’m pretty sure that the worms that were in the well are now in my belly because I was sick with a fever and diarrhea at the first of the week. I still have the diarrhea. It was funny when I was sick I didn’t have good balance. It rains a lot here in Blue Fields so there is a little bit of moss all over on the ground and my shoes are a harder rubber and slip all over. Normally I’m good and don’t fall but when I was sick I lost my balance. One time I miss placed my foot getting up onto a curb and I slipped and so as not to fall, I was running sideways trying to catch myself. I ran straight into this little wood shack. Then later that day I was walking through a callejon, like a little side walk that winds all over to a bunch of houses or a little alley way, this side walk was all broken up and I slipped my right foot off the left side of the path and fell straight back into a bunch of weeds and like 5 inches of water so I was decently muddy. I’m doing good but I still have diarrhea so maybe I’ll go get a parasite poop test if I still have diarrhea next week.
Also following the theme of bugs, I had been getting tons of bites on my thighs and on my ribs so I knew they weren’t mosquito bites. I put that bed cover that you sent me with on my bed for bed bugs and now I don’t have any bites so thanks for sending me with that. It works well.
Yesterday we were contacting a house and it was a little nicer and they had a big toaster oven by their garbage and it was pretty nice looking and so we figured it couldn’t be broken so we asked about it and she was like “It works but it’s too hot and burns my food and I have a big one so I was throwing it out.” So we were like “Well if it worked and you’re throwing it out can we have it?” So we now have an oven so that is sweet. You’ll have to send me some recipes mom so I can eat some good food, especially German pancakes. So that was a cool blessing to find an oven.
Also today we have to travel to Juigalpa because every other change we have interviews with the president and tomorrow is our zone’s interviews so we have to go. That means 2 hours in a boat and like 4 ½ hours in a bus. We’ll get home on Wednesday.
I guess I had better end with a spiritual note. This week we were contacting and we contacted this house and they were a less active family and we were taking to the mom when the daughter came out all dressed up to go party at a club or something and she sat down and listened for a bit and then went back inside and changed and came back out in normal clothes and had taken out her face piercing and sat down and was then like “Can I be baptized again? I want to start going back to church”. So we explained to her that she probably doesn’t need to be baptized again but that she can go back to church. She went to church on Sunday. It was cool to see how the spirit acts and influences people. We didn’t say anything like “Hey you shouldn’t go party or dress like that” but the spirit was able to communicate that to her and she listened.
Peace and Love,
Z
