This week was good. Every week goes by super fast. We had a training meeting in Managua so we had to ride a bus at 4 in the morning to get there, but it was sweet. They gave us McDonalds so it was worth it and the meeting was super good too. Our area is doing good. The mission is sweet and going good. We will have 2 baptisms this week, a mom and her kid and they are super cool, Geronima and Luis. They read and go to church and Luis comes to all of the youth activities so that is way cool. They will stay active.
Today was cool we always have stuff planned for p day but never do it like we were going to watch a churchy movie or go do this or that but never do. But today we played soccer as a zone and kick ball and water balloon volley ball, just passing water balloons back and forth with a sheet, but it was fun. We went to Asados Bernies again super good food so that was sweet. I’m learning to like everything I eat. The other day I was even checking out the cans of sardines and was like those look super good. It made me laugh cause I didn’t hate sardines before the mish, I would eat them but didn’t really like them.
Every time we play soccer or a sport on the conchas (they are the cement soccer/basket ball courts) I’m always sliding everywhere because of my shoes. Nike makes footsal shoes for the cement courts. They are super sweet and nice and they are super cheap comparatively cause everyone is poor so they sell them for less or they would never sell any here. I was able to talk the guy down a ton haha it was sweet. My comp was like, dang you’re good at that haha so it was sweet. I’m now the proud owner of some super sweet Nikes, super fresh and clean.
This week it has rained a good amount like every evening but usually not a lot. In Mexico it rained a ton every day. The people say it used to rain a ton here like 4 years ago but that this year it is drier. I wear my boots every day cause there is always puddles. We really only have 1 paved road in our area, actually like 3 but they are little and we are always just walking on dirt roads and trails that are super muddy. These boots are way nice and comfy thanks a ton.
This week we have a multi zone conference so we have to go back to Managua which is chill but kinda sucks cause it’s a day we can’t work in the area with members and numbers to catch up on but the conferences are sweet I like them.
One kinda funny story this week, my stomach wasn’t doing so hot and we were at a recent convert’s house and I had to use the bathroom. So they tell me where the bathroom is and it is in their back yard and it’s raining and dark cause it gets dark here at 6, so super early. I’m walking with this little light from the phone and get clothes lined by a barb wire clothes line and it scratched my glasses, so that’s rotten. I got to the bathroom, no more toilet paper but I couldn’t go back so I’m just using the bath room on a pit toilet and I had to use the flash light like morse code to get them to bring me toilet paper haha but it was chill. The joys of Nicaragua.
