Well cool beans. Mexico is quite a swell place. This week has been good. I’m getting better at the language and I can talk better. My investigator lessons are getting better and its cool. I’ve been getting a lot of time to read the BofM. I’ts a good book. I’m not going to lie, I’ve never really read it that much and have never finished it, but its way cool. I’m in Mosiah and its cool to get the stories from all of the other different people but during the same time. Cool stuff, good book, the church is true.
I forgot to write this last week but it was way funny. So we ran for an activity for class and I hit my name tag and it fell out of my pocket but I didn’t notice until a couple hours later when a kid was like, “dude where is your tag?” and I was like, “Dang I must of lost it when we were running”. We didn’t find it so I was like I’ll find it at the lost and found later, it was Saturday. That night I asked the reception desk and they didn’t have it and they told me to check tomorrow night. I had my suit coat tag so I was just using that but then devotional rolls around and the ccm president, president Pratt, is talking and then he is like “ohh one more thing, we have a lost name tag for an Elder Rushton”. My comp is like “dude that’s you”. I had to run all the way to the front and get it. I was just like, “Thanks a ton. We were running for an activity and i lost it”. He was chill about it though, he told me it happens and to keep a better eye on it. haha It was way funny though. Kids all the time now are like ohh you’re the kid that lost your name tag. We were running in front of his house so he found it and saved it for Sunday for devotional. It was chill and way funny everyone was just laughing a ton but it still sucked.
Today we got to go to the temple. We just got to go the visitor center though cause it is being worked on, but it was still super cool. We got to have a 40 minute bus ride which was way cool cause we got to see tons of crazy stuff. The roads are way tight. We came within inches of other busses all the time, it was nuts haha. There were city busses that had a ton of people hanging out the doors because they were so packed. Mexico is cool. The ccm is in a way poor area. They say that south Mexico city is way nice and almost like America but north is way crazy. There are tons of buildings stacked on top of each other. People use billboards for roofs and there are tons of dogs on people’s roofs, and cars and people everywhere. It is way cool. We passed through a half decent part of town. I wouldn’t say it looked like America because it was still way ghetto and nothing like America but it had some better buildings. The nicest buildings here still look like that way ghetto Sears in salt lake where it has boards on it and just dirty. There are nice ones and they’re like few and far between, mostly just tons of concrete houses on top of one another for ever. Way cool though.
Well that’s about it. The gospel is true and the church is sweet, and I’m way grateful to be here in Mexico and be on a mission.
Peace and love z
