Well this week was good, tiring but good. This week on Saturday we had the opportunity of meeting with the 2 missions in Nicaragua and President Russell M. Nelson. It was a very good meeting, but it caused a hectic week.
This week we were going to have 4 baptisms and normally the baptisms are on Saturday and they get confirmed on Sunday. But seeing as we wouldn’t be home for either it proved to be a little difficult. So we had 1 baptism of a girl named Ana. We were going to baptize her mother too and marry her with her husband who is a member but she doesn’t exist in the system of Nicaragua. She was never registered so we have a lot of work to do before we can baptize her. She was bummed. Hopefully we can do all the paperwork so she can be baptized in a few months. For now we baptized her daughter. It went well.
Then on Thursday we baptized 2 other part member family’s kids. So we got 3 baptisms but we weren’t here on Sunday and so only 2 got confirmed. We had members pick them up we we’ll get the other one will be confirmed this Sunday. This month Blue Fields 1 ended up with 7 baptisms. It is really 8 but one didn’t get confirmed so 7. I was here for 6 of them. 5 of the 7 were preexisting investigators but it was a good month. We have some really cool people for the next month so that will be good too.
On Friday we left Blue Fields in a panga(a boat) and headed to Rama. The boat is just a little under 2 hours. Then from Rama to Juigalpa we take a bus. That is like 4 ½ hours. We worked in Juigalpa and it was cool because I got to see my converts Luis and Jeronima. They are super cool. We ate lunch at their house so that was really cool. We went to a baptism and there I talked to a lot of cool members and people. We talked to this one less active member family and I had printed off some pictures and I gave them one and a year later it is still on their wall. That was cool. They were a cool family. It was nice to visit some people there. We then got on a 3 ½ hour bus ride at 3:30 in the morning to Managua for the multi mission meeting on Saturday. It was really good. President Russell M. Ballard talked to us. It was a really good talk. It was mostly about different doctrines from the Spanish guide of the scriptures that we should know from heart. It was a good talk and super cool. We also got to shake his hand. It was worth the 20 hours of travel.
We then got on busses. They gave us a 6 inch sub from Subway. It was good. We also went to McDonalds. That was good. When we got to Juigalpa we worked there. On Sunday morning we took a bus to Rama and then a boat to Blue Fields. We didn’t even get to go to church. Last multi mission the elders came back in a plane so that they could go to church the next day. They said no planes this time so we are now the less active missionaries haha. But it was a good week.
Peace and Love,
Z
