This week was good we were able to find some good investigators who are now progressing. It was a good week. It’s cool to see the Lord’s work. Like a month ago we baptized a kid named Murphy but they spell it Morfyl. Blue Fields is the land of the coolest and most interestingly spelt names. To name a few in this last week I have the names in my planner of Medila, Zulamie and Duchani. But anyways I was saying that Morfyl got baptized like a month ago, super cool. He has tons of friends in church. He goes every Sunday and is ordained and all. He is 17 and I guarantee he goes on a mission. This last week they went to SOY aka EFY and he came back and they shared their testimonies on Sunday. He shared a really good testimony. It was super cool to see how much he has learned in the last 2 months, that he has been able to progress so much. It was super cool to see. Now we are teaching his cousin and she is like the same story of Morfyl. She came to church on Sunday and loved it and made friends with everyone and even came back after church to go do visits with the other youth. In all of her prayers she is always like, “I know that this is the church for me.” Even before she visited so it’s super cool to see the Spirit work in these people and prepare them.
One example was an investigator we had who we taught 1 day a bit of the restoration then came back and committed her to church. she went and really enjoyed it and then we came back and finished the restoration and taught the Book Of Mormon and then had visited 1 other time to verify the Book of Mormon so we had visited with her like 4 times and shared some short messages. It turns out her husband who works on a cruise ship was preparing to be a Catholic Priest so he is super Catholic and he told her that she wasn’t allowed to visit the church anymore. He started Skyping her on Sunday in the morning so that she could not go to church behind his back. But anyways it was cool to see how great of a testimony she had gained and she had such little teaching, such little time in the church but she really had a testimony of the church. I was just like, I didn’t teach her that. I had nothing to do with that. It’s incredible how the spirit works. As missionaries we do nothing more than invite the spirit and as the people feel of the spirit and they let it work in their lives it changes them. It has very little to do with us and that’s the beauty of missionary work.
We are going to try and visit to teach her with her husband because he came back now. We will try to go with a member who was an assistant to like the huge priest in the Catholic church. He was super high up there but 2 missionaries knocked on his door and now he’s a super cool member and was the Branch President and everything. So we are going to bring him so hopefully it works out and her husband will let her go to church. She loved the Family Proclamation so much that we got her a big one because she wanted to frame it up on her wall. Hopefully she can progress.
Peace and Love,
