Juigalpa is a pretty sweet. It is over by Blue Field from what I understand. I haven’t seen it on a map but we just loaded up on a bus and went for a while like 5 hours or so. It was sweet. That was on Wednesday, on Monday we just got here and went to meetings at the mission home and got Papa John’s pizza. It’s the same here way good, way good and then we slept at the ap’s house it was chill. The next day we went out with missionaries in Managua and it was fun. As like a welcome to Nicaragua we all had to contact a bus, every new kid has to. haha It was sweet, you just go to the front and then talk really loud. We shared a message about the Book of Mormon and everyone just kinda stares at you, like why are you in the front of the bus? haha but it’s sweet.
The people here are cool I like my area a lot. It’s in the mountains and pretty hilly and tons of trees and dirt roads. We live in a concrete room with a tin roof. It’s decent for Nicaragua. A lot of the houses here are just a concrete room with a tin roof. They cook with a fire or some people have a little Colman stove. It’s like half and half. It’s cool. The fire works well as long as they don’t cook using plastic then your food tastes like burnt plastic. We pretty much just eat lunch every day and I was way hungry but Saturday we had lunch and dinner which was dope. We were talking to a less active member and she gave us food too and a way good milk shake cause she has money for here, like a 2 story concrete house and some couches instead of plastic lawn chairs. She has like a little restaurant so it’s sweet. We might have her be our lunch appointment. We pay a member 2 dollars a piece to feed us lunch every day except for p day. The lunch appointment we have now is chill but we just get a bowl of rice and a little bit of something like some random yellow stuff and one day it was rice and a pig kidney not much and to be honest not really good. So I’m hoping we change to the lady that owns a restaurant cause her food is actually good haha but its chill. Sunday we got a lot of food for here, lunch and 2 dinners and someone else gave us milk and a biscuit thing. It was good but since I drank the milk I’ve pooped like 6 or so times, a lot and it’s just terrible diarrhea and I’ve thrown up but I’m doing better now.
The mission is way cool I love it here. It’s crazy how something so terrible can be so great. At first I had a infected ingrown toe nail and it was just crazy swollen and red but its fixed now. I have a crazy rash all over my butt and legs that was pretty crazy but it’s like almost gone now. But despite all of that crappy stuff I love the mission. It is so sweet it’s super cool to teach the people and feel the spirit. We have got a ton a baptismal dates.
One of our coolest investigators we were just walking down the street and he was on a motor cycle and he honked at us and pulled over and was talking to us and asked me where I was from and I said Utah. He was like you speak English can you teach me English? He actually speaks really good English. We were like we can teach you the gospel in English and now he has a baptismal date and went to church. He is doing way well and participated a ton in church. It was sweet so that’s cool.
So the mission is all worth it, eating kidneys and diarrhea. It’s all sweet I love the mission and serving the people.
Peace and love,
Z
