So basically, this week was chill and went by super fast, like crazy fast. I’m liking the non-holiday Sunday’s cause we were back to 8 people in church, so that’s good. The mission is going good. We have some positive investigators and we are hoping for some baptisms this month, hopefully at least 5 but don’t count your eggs until they hatch. Sometimes stupid stuff happens.
We had one investigator Ines who had been to church twice and then this Sunday her husband was just like, Ohh yeah we aren’t going, we are just going to go to this church on the corner. She wanted to go and she is cool but she didn’t go because of her husband. I don’t know. Hopefully he changes his mind cause another problem will be he probably won’t want to marry her either. For some reason no one gets married here. People will have lives with each other their whole lives, pretty much like 20 years and be like, Ohh we aren’t married, that’s to quick. It’s not even hard to get married here and the whole thing cots just over $20. The last marriage we did with the lawyer and filling the papers was just $24, way cheep. Yeah the people only make like $4 a day. A lot of people make less or more but it’s an achievable amount of money. People just don’t want to do it. There is like a social stigma but yeah that was a bummer. Hopefully they change.
We have a ton of super cool positive investigators. A cool thing was on P-day we were like we need a stove so we bought a stove, so that was dope. All week we ate a ton of top ramen and spaghetti so that was super cool. It’s nice to be able to eat real food and changing our lunch appointment to Jeronima was the best idea of my mission. Her food is so good and she makes way nice food, beef and all sorts of good food, with fresh juice that she makes. The food is so good so that is the best.
We got to help Bladimir dig out a place for his new house. It was fun to be able to work hard and do something other than walking for exercise. We moved a lot of dirt but right now I have little girl hands. We got to dig twice this week, one other time at an old lady’s house but my hands now are covered in blisters haha but It’s chill. I like digging.
This week was good. One thing this week we cleaned a ton of trash out of the apartment and we put it in a big bag in front of the house cause a truck comes by and takes it. But by the time we got home it was a P-day, so 3 hours later someone came and took a ton of the trash. We had a broken fan and a super gross floor mat, it was all gone, just all sorts of stuff. It’s a bummer though that the people here are that poor that they want most of our trash.
Well that’s about it. The mission is cool. It is going good.
Peace and Love,
Z
