This week was good. We were able to do more teaching like normal instead of just contacting so that was good. We have a super supportive ward here. They are sweet. On Tuesday we worked with a member and on Friday we worked with our mission leader and Thursday and Saturday and Sunday with members so we only had 2 days of the week we didn’t work with members. So this ward is way cool. All the time the x-missionaries are, “when can I work with you guys?” So it’s way nice cause it’s always better to teach with a member. The people are more comfortable and this week we found 2 possibilities for baptism so that is way sweet.
On the 31st we are hoping to baptize 2, one girl named Josalin who is 10 and she has been to church a ton before but her mom is less active and another kid named Luis who is 11 whose parents are also less active. I realize it’s not like super tricky missionary work but it’s still way chill cause it helps the families reactivate so we found a couple of gifts so that will help us get this area started. It’s a bit tricky cause we didn’t have any existing investigators but we are doing good now for the most part.
Yeah my new area is dope. I’m in Sandino and I’m more towards the lake. There is like a big highway and I’m on the side of the lake. I also have another town called Xiloa in my area which I haven’t been to. They used to be separate areas but then they closed them so it’s all just part of mine but it’s far away and hard to get people to church so will see how much we will work out there probably not much.
Last P-day I got a hose and I put this trash can that we have for water on top of our dresser on the other side of the wall for the shower so at night cause there is no water I can still shower. It works good. This area is super good. I like it a ton. It’s chill. The people are nice and smart so they are easier to teach and so we are going to see some success. The members are way nice and our lunch appointment gives us so much food. It’s sweet. Sometimes my companion can’t even finish it so I’m gaining my weight back from Juigalpa. I haven’t even used my stove haha. I’m just like between all the fried plantains and coke at lunch I need to diet the rest of the day. She gave us a huge bowl of soup and the whole top layer was just straight oil. It was delicious soup but I’m surprised my heart just didn’t stop working right there.
As for your question from my last letter about me waking up at 10, haha no I wake up at 6:25 every day. I’m not lazy but I am really bad at writing. I was probably talking about how the water turns on at 4 cause that’s just what I hear I’m not sure cause I’m not awake at 4, sorry I wrote it wrong. My comp is chill his name is Elder Jensen. He has just finished training. He is from Logan Utah, likes to play the guitar and is almost my height and 130 pounds.
Today was cool we went to the DL’s area and the branch president is pretty rich for here and lives in this little gated community. It is almost like the USA but only almost. All the houses are nice but really small. Like living room, kitchen, bathroom, and 2 bedrooms—super small but pretty nice. He had a basketball hoop so that was fun and he ordered us all fried chicken. It was sweet.
Peace and Love, Elder Rushton
