Well this last week was good. We changed lunch appointments. Our last lunch was just a lot of rice and a little bit of chicken or something. The previous missionaries wouldn’t change it out of fear of her. The last time missionaries changed from her she called the President like 4 times trying to get them in trouble even though they didn’t do anything. So me and my companion figured that we don’t actually do anything bad so we don’t have much to worry about. The only problem is that she was also who washed our clothes. At first she said that she would keep washing our clothes then the next day she called and said no. We are looking for a new place to wash clothes and laundromats don’t exist in Nicaragua so we are now having to wash all our clothes by hand and a wash board. It has been worth it.
We changed lunch to a lady Maria Hansack. She is super cool. Last week we got Maria and Orlando married and Orlando gat baptized. The black people here cook way good. They cook with a lot of coconut. Rice and beans with coconut, meat with coconut, and coconut bread. It is really good. She worked in Costa Rica for a while cooking so it’s way good. The first thing we got was pig ribs and the next day fried fish in coconut and when her brother gets back from sea fishing he brings back a lot of food so she is going to make us sea turtle and lobster. We are pretty stoked about our new lunch. Sorry you probably don’t just want to hear about food. But one last thing me and my companion made German pancakes that were good too.
This week we had a baptism of a kid named Junior. He is cool. He boxes a ton. Both of his parents are members and even though they are active and come to church almost every week they never got Junior baptized so the missionaries have just been waiting for him to turn 9. It was chill.
The only problem was that the day of his baptism his grandma who doesn’t like the church gave him medicine for parasites so he couldn’t be baptized because everyone said that it would make him sick to get wet after he took the parasite medicine. This is another Nica medical theory that I can put in the file along with the air conditioner hurts me and I was ironing so I can’t go outside because its cold and I’ll get arthritis. We got him baptized on Sunday morning so it all worked out well.
Peace and Love,
Z
