Well this week was good. We worked hard taught a lot and got a lot of new investigators. We got rid of a lot of old investigators and this week we will have 2 baptisms so that is sweet. A guy named Pilar that we teach in English and Mauricio who has read pretty much everything the church prints. So that is sweet. He is now in alma 22. Last time we talked to him he had read all of the teachings of Joseph Feilding Smith and read most of Principles of the Gospel so that is way cool. He is a super cool investigator, especially from just choosing a house in the middle of the street to contact. That Sunday he didn’t come to church and we called him and he was just drunk as a skunk and now he has read more gospel literature than me. It is way cool to see that people can do that and change so much. This week was good, though I can’t think of any good stories or specific stuff to share but it was a good week, went by fast. Oh, one night we went to the Pulparia to buy some Tang and some taquiritos so we had food for Sunday and the one by our house was closed so we went to another one. One of our way good friends in the ward John Keli was working there. He is like 23 and used to race motocross here. He is the son of the lady we have our lunch appointment with so we talk with him a lot and play soccer with him on p days. He gave us free Coke and little bit of cake so that was dope. We bought a ton of Manzana Tang which is way good. I’m not going to lie my diet here is terrible. I’m going to get diabetes or something haha. We have a fridge but there is no way to cook food or anything so I’m not going to lie if I eat anything for dinner or breakfast it’s just a little bag of taquritos and some tang which is honestly terrible for me but thats really all there is. In the morning I don’t eat cause we don’t have food. Yesterday I ate a few spoonful’s of peanut butter cause someone left some in the apartment, so that was good. For lunch the lady with the restaurant feeds us so that’s chill and the food is way good, well for Nicaragua. It was just rice and some other stuff but it’s good and not kidneys haha so that’s sweet. Today she gave us rice with beans and something else I can’t remember but it was good and these little pickled peppers that where way hot and I pounded a ton of them haha. They were good but my nose was just running like crazy. For dinner we get a little bag of taquritos and Tang which is like a total of like 10 cords, like 40 cents. But yeah today I’m going to buy some Toparamen and some cereal or something to eat and just eat it dry like I did at the house for dinner so that’s a little better. We live in like an apartment thing. It is just a long cinderblock house that is 6 houses. We have a tin roof and it is one room with like a divider for the beds. We have a curtain for the shower and toilet. It just has raised tile between the room and the shower. We have running water cold showers but it’s not too bad cause it’s so hot here anyways. The language is good it just depends on who is talking. I can understand some people, others I have no idea. Some people, as in a lot of people, here speak like the boobonics of Spanish haha so it can be difficult they skip a ton of words and mumble a lot. haha but that is sweet. I haven’t got any dear elders but I got grandmas post card so that was sweet. Tell her I loved it and thanks a ton and that she is super cool. I’m sure the dear elders will come too thanks a ton mom. I’ll be stoked when they come too. well peace and love, z The mission is good. It finally rained here so that’s cool. It cools stuff down a lot so that’s nice. Before it would rain for like maybe 5 minutes or 10 then stop and never rain much, but the last few days we have got some good rain.
The mission is sweet. We have a couple of good investigators, one guy named Mauricio and he is super cool. He comes to church and even went to 2 baptisms on Saturday. We gave him a Book of Mormon maybe like 2 weeks ago and he is already in Jacob so that is way sweet. He is super cool and already really loves going to church. He was telling us about how he works at the hospital and people were talking about how Mormons worship Satan and he told them about how he when to the Mormon church and told them about the church and how we don’t worship Satan so that was dope. He will be a good member. It is really cool to have a good investigator. Most of our investigators we have to stop by before church and tell them to come to church then they are like ohh yeah I’ll come to the 2nd hour and then they never do or they are like yeah I’m sick or my grandma is sick. In Nicaragua every one "works all Sunday—the entire day from 5 in the morning till 5 at night or is deathly ill" haha. That is what we hear all day but it’s chill. The mission is still super cool. It’s way nice when you find the people the Lord prepares and are ready for the gospel and love the gospel. That’s what makes the mission worth it. It’s super cool to see people change their lives for the better. The mission is cool that way. The church is true and I’m glad to be here. Glad you guys had a good time at the OR show sounds fun. Things here are good I don’t know really what else to write about. Ohh there was a mouse that pooped all over my sheets so I got hives. So thanks for the bottle of Benadryl. It’s been handy cause for some reason the last few days I’ve woke up with hives. Last night I slept with a sheet over top of me and I didn’t get them, so maybe it was bugs biting me too. I changed my sheets but its chill. Peace and love, Elder Rushton Hey so this week was chill. A couple of cool things this week, I was only sick Monday and my rash is gone and my toe is all healed so I’m as good as new which makes Nicaragua a lot better. We changed our lunch appointment and now we get a ton of way good food so that is sweet. I’m way stoked about that so I’m gaining back my 10 pounds that I got in the ccm so that’s sweet.
This week we had 2 people get baptized so it was sweet to see the fruits of missionary work. They were from before I got here but it was still way cool and to see why we are here. Today was good we played basket ball at the church and made fruit smoothies as a district and threw a baseball a lot. Me and Elder Williams went to maxi pali which is their Wal-Mart. He wanted to get this piece of chocolate cake for a dollar and then we saw the cakes and they were only 4 dollars so he was like dude do you just want to split an entire chocolate cake so we got a chocolate cake. It was good but it was a terrible idea haha I’m going to get fat it was a lot of cake haha A way funny thing that happened this week is we were talking to our neighbor. He is a coach on a baseball team here and coaches little league. We had elder Williams with us cause he is in a trio and he was in the group I came in with. He is cool and the base ball guy calls and tells us to meet him at the stadium to teach him a lesson so we are like aright cool, but Morales just tells us we are meeting him and going to teach him the first lesson, so we are like cool we got this. Then we show up and get though the gate they have, and there is a entire little league base ball team of little kids like maybe 8 and they all run over and sit down and Morales is like we have 5 minutes teach the first discussion and we are like ahh ok. So we start talking about God is our loving Heavenly Father, Jesus established a church and we are like this is terrible why are we teaching the first lesson to little kids they don’t understand any of this. So we pass it to Morales and he is just like I know the church brings happiness and blessings will you pray about these things and prepare for baptism. It was the dopest thing ever haha all the kids had no idea what he was talking about and they all just awkwardly stared at him haha it was sweet. When we finished they all clapped for us. They all loved us anyway and they all shook our hands and me and elder Williams took a picture with them ill send it next week, it’s on his camera haha it was dope when we left the stadium me and Williams where laughing and where like dude why didn’t you tell us we where teaching a team of kids did you know we were going to teach a ton of little kids and he was like yeah. We were dude you have to tell us these things haha. It was funny what we should have said but we didn’t cause we didn’t know we were teaching kids till they all ran over was like a primary lesson, like baseball makes you happy church makes me happy and when we obey the commandment and obey or parents and are nice it makes Jesus happy haha. But we just followed Morales and taught the first lesson haha. This probably makes no sense in a email and how I wrote it I just have like 30 minutes to write this email so it gets random haha. But it was way funny and me and Williams thought it was hilarious he invited the entire team to be baptized it was dope. The mission is cool and I like it here a lot. The church is true. Peace and love, z |
