Weekly Letter 2-15-16
What up? This week was chill, we just worked like normal. On Monday we ate some good pizza and on Wednesday I think I can’t remember what day but there was an earthquake. It was just a little one but it was chill because I’ve never felt an earth quake before I came here. We were eating lunch when the ground started shaking but it was only a couple of seconds long. Here in Masaya they are common because it’s right by an active volcano. Would I be a terrible person to say I hope it explodes? I think that could be cool. I heard that the last time it exploded a bunch of lava came out and ran down into the lake but it really didn’t do much else so that would be cool. A couple of months ago Momotombo exploded but not like crazy. There was a ton of smoke and there was a river of lava going down it. Momotombo is the volcano that I had a ton of pictures of when I was in Sandino. The poor kids in Sandino just got to see the smoke because the lava was on the other side of the volcano. Who knows maybe I’ll get lucky and get to see this volcano explode haha.
This week was good. One of the days this week we worked all day and no one would let us in their house. We contacted and we started to get a little down and then the last contact of the day at 8:46, we found a guy named Darin and we talked to him about the gospel of Jesus Christ and put a baptismal date. He was cool. It was like Ether 12:6, that you don’t receive a testimony until after a trial of your faith so it was cool but to be honest with you I could just leave the story there and it would be a happy story but we haven’t been able to find him since. He didn’t go to church and his family won’t give us his phone number to call him. But it was a good story for the day. But it’s still not over. We’ll keep passing to see if we can find him. The problem is he is almost always at his work or his dad’s house and just comes home late at night. We’ll see if we can’t find him one of these days. That’s how missionary work is. We’ll keep working and hopefully find a bunch of new investigators this week.
Marleny is doing good. She went to church on Sunday. She likes the church a lot. She brought her daughter. She didn’t like it but we’ll see if we can’t convince her to go this next week even though we don’t’ have a live band. We don’t convince anyway it is the Holy Ghost’s job but you catch my drift anyways.
Peace and Love,
Z
