This week was good. We worked hard, and found some good new investigators. This area is getting going a little so that’s good. We are still trying to build up an investigator base. We have quite a few but only a few real positives so we’re still working hard and contacting a ton to find a lot of new people. Contacting is good.
This week I was writing in my journal about how God prompts us to find who he wants us to find and how he leads us there. One day we found some people. It was interesting seeing the different ways God got us to find them. The first lady we were just walking and I saw her out of the corner of my eye and thought to contact her but we were already walking past and then we were still walking a little and I was like, what if I thought to contact her because God wants me to contact her. We better go back. I then told my comp, let’s go back and contact that lady and he was like yeah I was thinking the same thing, to go contact her. We went back and talked to her and she had been talking to missionaries before and we put a time to visit her in her home.
Later in the day we were still contacting and I saw a pulparia in the middle of nowhere and I was like, Hmm that pulparia looks good, I want a Coke so I was like hey comp, let’s go contact that pulparia—it’s a little store like a house where you can buy Coke, soap and chips. So we went to go get a Coke and contact the pulparia and we started talking to the lady and she also was an old investigator from some missionaries like a year ago and was interested in going to church. She said that her husband had gone twice and really liked it so we got a Coke and put a time to go back later.
We then started contacting the neighboring houses when we found 3 ladies who had all visited the church before with the missionaries. It was funny to see how God prompts us to find his sheep sometimes just direct like, “contact her” or sometimes in a more roundabout way like making you thirsty for a Coke. Either way it’s cool to see the fruits of the mission and being blessed as a missionary to receive direction from him to help this work progress.
The work is going great and time is flying by. I’m enjoying the mission. We’re working hard and have tons of more work to do and that makes the mission good.
I got your letters thanks a ton you’re the best and I got Gramsy’s ties I can’t remember if I already told you guys but thanks a lot. I love you tons.
Peace and Love,
Elder Rushton
