Wow time is fast. It’s already October. Conference was good. As missionaries for the most part we just have to work. We have to bring 4 investigators to watch and all of our investigators could only go on Sunday morning for the most part so we only got to watch priesthood and the Sunday morning sessions. It’s chill because we just download it and then listen to it after. After priesthood we got a pizza and took it to the house after we were done working. It was good.
This week was good. We worked hard and the ZL visited us out here in Blue Fields. It was chill. On Thursday the lights went out at like 5:30 so as soon as it got dark we had to go to the house. We all just chilled on the roof and looked at the stars. There were tons because no one had power. Then my companion and I put hammocks out back and slept there. Without a fan it’s too hot to sleep inside. You just soak in sweat, so we slept outside. They also turned the power off the next night too to fix some stuff. We slept out in the hammocks again. It was chill. I like sleeping in hammocks. I used to always camp in hammocks. It is the best.
This week was good. We were able to find some good new investigators. This week we found a family and they were cool and the next time we passed by they told us the Jehovah Witnesses were visiting so they couldn’t talk to us and that they figured that as long as you keep the commandments it’s all good. When she said that she was going to dump us for the Testigos I was thinking in my mind, “Don’t do it. That’s not what you need. They have nothing absolutely nothing for you.” We convinced them to let us share a message and so obviously we taught the restoration—1 true church, 1 true baptism. The lesson went well and there was a good spirit there. We were trying to get them to go to church and then they weren’t really willing to go. We worked so hard to get them to go and we were just praying that they would feel the spirit and we worked so hard. We finally convinced them to go and then the sister prayed and in her prayer she said, “Thanks for sending the Elders to our home and help us find if it is of your purpose or not that they are here.” It was cool that it could start out so unpositive and work out so well. They came to conference and really liked it. That is the great thing, as long as we can invite the spirit, the spirit does the rest. The great thing about this church is we have the truth. This is an unstoppable work that I am so grateful to be part of, to do my small part.
Mom, I have included my testimony for your sacrament talk. It is just that I know that this is the Lord’s work and I testify of that. I know that I was called of God at this time to be in this place to serve these people. I am impressed by words of Ammon when he said,
The Lamanites, were in darkness, yea, even in the darkest abyss, but behold, how many of them are brought to behold the marvelous light of God! And this is the blessing which hath been bestowed upon us that we have been made instruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work. I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God. For many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.
I stand with Ammon rejoicing for this great opportunity that the Lord has given me to deliver His word, His glad tidings of great joy, and the eternal blessings of the restored gospel. I know that this is the true church, which was founded by our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ and restored by a prophet called of God and is led in these latter days by a living prophet who is guided and directed by a living God who loves us and abundantly blesses us every day. For this my joy is full, to be an instrument in the hand of God to bring about this great work. I have felt of His great love in this work and solemnly testify of its divinity and for this I am eternally grateful. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.
Peace and Love,
Z
