This week was good. We were working hard but working hard in the rain. It rained a lot this week. Normally it rains hard for a short time and then passes but these last few days it has rained really hard and rained all day. Even the streets were flooding in some parts so it made for wet days. As missionaries we work come rain, sun or snow all day, so we were just soaked all day. Then the sun came out on Sunday finally so no one wanted to go to church because everyone had to wash clothes. No one could wash all week because it was rainy and cloudy so that was tricky. A lot of people didn’t come to church. It would have been the same had it been rainy, “Oh, I can’t go its rainy.” So people no matter what will find an excuse. The rain made the week in some ways easier because pretty much everyone was home. A lot of people didn’t even go to work so we were able to find pretty much everyone at home.
Also funny story, I got attacked by a rooster this week. I was walking down like an alley way with tin fences on both sides and a rooster came running out from a gate into the alley way right in front of me. It freaked out and did a big ol jump and karate kicked me in the chest and like ran up my shoulder and jumped off and back over the fence leaving me covered in mud. It was funny. I didn’t really know they could jump that high. He had some good hops.
This week we’ve been teaching this mom and her kids and they are super cool but the mom has some problem that she won’t say and for that reason won’t get baptized. Since she isn’t going to be baptized her teenage sons also aren’t so we are working hard with her to help her. We are hoping to get her and her family in the water in the next few weeks.
We are also teaching some other real cool people also one 17 year old named Murphy and he is super cool. We taught him and his mom and that week he went to church and loved it. He also went to the activity on Wednesday and the youth accepted him real well. He already has a bunch of friends. The 3rd time we passed to talk to him he asked us when the temple trip was because he heard about it in class and wanted to go. He’s pretty cool and was definitely prepared before we met him. The work is going good.
Peace and Love,
Z
